The Big Lottery Fund will provide up to £20 million to fund social, medical or socio-medical research led by voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Research programme aims to influence local and national policy and practice by funding VCS organisations to produce and disseminate evidence-based knowledge. In the longer term the programme, through producing sound evidence, aims to help develop better services and support for beneficiaries.
Grants of between £10,000 and £500,000 are available for research projects lasting up to five years.
At present there is just one more funding round, applications for which must be in at the latest by the 29th May 2009.
