Professor Mary Porteous

Consultant Clinical Geneticist and Service Lead for the SE Scotland Genetic Service based at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh

Professor Porteous has a longstanding interest in genetic education and founded ScotGEN, the Scottish Genetics Education Network along with her colleagues Dr Jonathan Berg and Dr Zosia Miedzbrodzka. Mary represents Scotland on the Advisory Board of the National Genetics Education and Development Centre in Birmingham and chairs the Genetics Specialist Advisory Committee for Specialist Registrar Training at the Royal College of Physicians.
